EQ: When Miami's Music Scene Dialed In
Miami's DIY music community came together at Ampersand Studios to connect, learn, and build. Here's what happened when creatives showed up ready to grow together.
October 23, 2025 — Rolando

On October 21st, 100 artists, producers, engineers, managers, and music industry professionals packed into Ampersand Studios for the inaugural EQ event. The room was full of people who showed up ready to connect, learn, and build together.
Music Club brought raw creative energy. Led by Paperwater, artists stepped up to share their latest unreleased tracks and demos, opening up about the stories and inspirations behind their work before the room offered constructive feedback. It was honest and collaborative, the kind of space where people felt safe to be seen and heard as artists still growing into their sound.
The "From Independent to Industry" panel brought serious knowledge. Moderated by Dre Mav, the conversation featured Somara Jacques (Music Attorney) and Stephanie Santiago-Rolon (CEO of Elevated Music Industries), who dropped gold nuggets about navigating contracts, building leverage, and positioning yourself for long-term success in the industry. The Q&A session gave attendees direct access to ask the questions they've been sitting on.
Shoutout to our sponsors JRK!, Topo Chico, Brez, and Prestige Time Logistics for making this night possible and keeping everyone fueled throughout.

EQ Headshots
EQ is a labor of love. We created this event because we believe Miami deserves a more connected, supported, and empowered creative community. The conversations, collaborations, and connections that happened in that room are exactly why we do this.
So now we're asking: should we do it again?
