Miami has a lot going on this weekend and we put it all in one place for you. The May 14-17 Weekend Navigator is live and loaded with everything worth your time across the city.
Before you start planning, a couple things to keep in mind. It is hot out there. Like record-breaking, why-does-it-feel-like-August-already hot. Mid-May doesn't usually hit like this, so if you're heading to anything outdoors, hydrate and plan accordingly. There are also wildfires burning in western Broward and south Miami-Dade right now, and depending on how the wind shifts, air quality in the metro area could dip. Check AirNow.gov before you head out, especially if you or anyone in your crew is sensitive to smoke.
Now for something that hurts a little. Cheeseburger Baby on Washington Ave is closing after 25 years. The late-night burger window that fed the after-shift crowd, the club kids, and pretty much every celebrity who's ever wandered South Beach at 2 a.m. is being pushed out for a new hotel. Owner Stephanie Vitori announced it this week and is hinting at a next chapter, but the Washington Ave location is done on June 27. If you've ever loved a post-midnight burger from that window, you've got about six weeks to go say goodbye.
On top of everything in the Navigator, there are a few big shows happening around town this weekend. Laura Pausini brings the Yo Canto World Tour to Kaseya Center on Saturday. Bill Burr is at Hard Rock Live on Thursday. And Ali Siddiq rolls through James L. Knight Center on Thursday with the Custom Fit Tour.
The rest is all below. Times, details, links, everything you need to lock in your weekend. We're still adding events through Sunday so keep checking back.
Plan your weekend with PeoplePlacesThingsMiami and send this to whoever needs it. The weekend is too good to figure out alone.
