Nostalgia on Wheels: PARADISE SKATE Recap

On March 16, 2024, over 300 people laced up their skates and rolled into an unforgettable night at Miami Roller Rink, proving that some places hold the power to whisk us back in time while propelling us forward into new memories. Brought to you by PeoplePlacesThingsMiami and SunnyD Vodka Seltzer, PARADISE SKATE was not just an event; it was a revival of the iconic venue known to millennials as Hot Wheels, reimagined for an evening of nostalgia, art, and exhilarating beat

From the moment guests joined the buzzing line outside, the air was electric with anticipation, reminiscent of the hottest Miami nightclubs. Stepping through the doors, attendees were greeted with a wave of nostalgia, enveloped by the scent of waxed wood and the sight of vibrant skates gliding across the floor. “It felt like stepping into a time machine, but the music—oh, the music—it kept everything feeling so fresh and now,” one attendee shared, reflecting the night’s seamless blend of past and present.

The energy soared as the DJ booth, encased in lush greenery, became the heart of the rink, pumping out tracks that struck a perfect balance between nostalgic hits and modern beats. Red Bull Thre3style Champion Boi Jeanius, Louie Arson, Bozito, and LittleRok curated the soundtrack, keeping spirits high and skates moving. The Skate Nymphs, an inclusive collective known for their passion and community spirit, hosted the party, ensuring a night filled with joyous connections and vibrant skating fun.

But PARADISE SKATE was more than a skate party; it was a multisensory experience. Attendees savored award-winning Chef Louie Estrada’s smash burgers and truffle fries, watched in awe as artist Vic Giraldo painted live, and cheered as five lucky winners walked away richer, thanks to Enterate’s generous raffle. Throughout the night, guests enjoyed complimentary SunnyD Vodka Seltzers, adding a refreshing twist to the nostalgic journey.

As the night drew to a close, the promise of more to come lingered in the air. “We’ve already got something special lined up for next month,” teased the organizers, “but you’ll have to stay tuned for the details.”
